Aggravated Sexual Assault with a Weapon Arrest

The Peterborough Police Service has made an arrest in relation to a sexual assault investigation.

On Wednesday, August 27, 2025 officers from the Peterborough Police Service arrested and charged 39 year old Jomo Frederick with:

  • Aggravated Sexual Assault with a Weapon

The accused is being held in custody and will appear in court today, August 28, 2025.

The Peterborough Police Service believes there could be more victims. Any victim, or anyone with information about Jomo Frederick, who is also believed to use the alias of “G”, is asked to call Peterborough Police at 705-876-1122 x225 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 or online at www.stopcrimehere.ca

 

Break and Enter Arrest

A 29-year-old Peterborough woman is facing a break and enter charge after an incident on Wednesday evening.

At approximately 8:00pm on Wednesday, August 27, 2025, officers were called to a break and enter at residence in the Herbert and St. Paul’s street area. The caller reported multiple people were trying to gain access to a residence that was vacant. Upon arrival, officers located 3 males on the property. Officers entered the residence and located a female hiding, and took her into custody

As a result of the investigation, a 29-year-old Peterborough woman was arrested and charged with:

  • Break, Enter a dwelling house with intent to commit indictable offence

The accused was released on an undertaking and scheduled to attend court on October 7, 2025.

 

Stunt Driving Charge

A 36-year-old Whitby woman driving a rental vehicle is facing multiple charges after a traffic stop in Peterborough Wednesday morning.

At approximately 10:00am on August 27, 2025, an officer from the Traffic Unit was on general patrol in the area of Lily Lake Road.  A vehicle was recorded going 99km/hr in a posted 50km/hr zone. The officer conducted a traffic stop and the driver was issued tickets for:

  • Stunt in excess of 40km/hr
  • Speeding 99km/h in a 50km/h
  • Fail to surrender Driver’s licence

 

The driver was issued a 30-day license suspension and the vehicle impounded for 14 days.
