Video – Photo Gallery – Helicopter Lands on Cobourg Pier Bringing Visitors to Participate in Fishing Tournament

In Local, Photo Gallery

As Victoria Beach was filled with visitors on Saturday, August 16, 2025 a helicopter landed on the east pier bringing visitors to Cobourg.

The helicopter landed just before 3 p.m. bringing M. Benoît St-Gelais and members of his family who are taking part in the King of the Lake Fishing Tournament.

People on the beach could be heard yelling, wondering if it was Justin Bieber or Prime Minister Mark Carney.

Security cordoned off the east pier prior to the arrival of the helicopter.

Shortly after landing a pontoon aircraft passed overhead.

Once landed the guests were welcomed to Cobourg and later taken to their hotel.

Security was put in place overnight and the helicopter is expected to leave on Sunday after the fishing tournament ends.
