Update – Cobourg Transit Bus Fixed and Back on the Road

In Local

A Cobourg transit bus that was casting out a smokey cloud of exhaust was fixed and placed back on the road shortly after video was sent to Today’s Northumberland on August 11, 2025.

The video was taken shortly before noon in the area of Birchwood Trail in Cobourg’s north end.

The resident who took the video said they were very surprised to see the amount of black smoke coming from the exhaust.

“The bus was off the road and in the shop later that morning,” said Kara Euale, Manager of Communications.

“Repairs were not significant, and the bus is already back on the road. Further, this is a contractor vehicle, so the cost of repairs is not covered by the Town of Cobourg.”
