Breaking News – Video – Fire Causes Extensive Damage to Cobourg Home

In Local

A fire caused extensive damage to a home in Cobourg on Monday, July 28, 2025.

Shortly before 2 p.m. Cobourg Fire Department was dispatched to Prince of Wales Drive in Cobourg’s west end for a structure fire.

When fire crews arrived dense smoke covered the street making it hard to spot the house.

Fire crews made a aggressive interior attack to where the fire is believed to have started in the bedroom.

At one point a Cobourg Police officer moved the Fire Chief’s vehicle that appeared to be in the way so an aerial truck could be brought closer to the scene.

The fire was brought under control quickly but crews remained on scene to check for extension.

It’s believed the fire may have started in the bedroom.

Neighbours say the lone occupant of the home went to a neighbouring house to report her home was on fire. A dog was located in the backyard and taken to safety by neighbours.

The home appears to have suffered extensive damage.
