Video – Power Cord Fire Causes Minor Damage to Home in Hamilton Township

Hamilton Township firefighters quickly determined the cause for a smoke filled house was a burned power cord.

Hamilton Township Fire Department were called to a house filled with smoke on Harwood Road on Saturday, July 26, 2025 at approximately 8:30 a.m.

When fire crews arrived it was quickly determined that a power cord in one of the rooms was the cause.

All the outlets were being used at the time of the fire and firefighters credit there was no other flammable materials in the area of the power cord preventing further damage.
