Peterborough Police – Incidents Include Warrant, Weapons Arrest (No Names Released)

Warrant/Weapons Arrest

A 35-year-old Peterborough man wanted on a warrant is facing more charges after an incident Thursday morning.

At approximately 9:30am on July 24, 2025, a K9 officer on general patrol spotted the man riding a bicycle in the Aylmer Street and Murray Street area.  The officer attempted to stop the man, but he ran, discarding an item as he fled. PC Wentworth and PSD Gryphon gave chase and caught up to the man in a nearby alley.  He was taken into custody.  Officers retrieved the discarded item which turned out to be a replica handgun. During a search of the man after arrest, officers also seized three knives.

As a result of the investigation, a 35-year-old Peterborough man was arrested on the strength of the warrant (for Mischief under $5000 and Fail to Comply with Probation Order) and further charged with:

  • Unauthorized Possession of Weapon
  • Possession of Firearm or Ammunition contrary to Prohibition Order
  • Fail to Comply with Probation Order

The accused is currently bound by a prohibition order with the following condition: to not possess any weapon or firearms as defined by the Criminal Code of Canada.

The accused is currently bound by a probation order with the following condition: to keep the peace and be of good behaviour.

The accused was held in custody and appeared in court Thursday, July 24, 2025.

  

 

Weapons Arrest

A 29-year-old Peterborough woman is facing charges after an incident in a parking lot Thursday morning.

At approximately 8:00am on July 24, 2025, officers were called to a parking lot in the Dalhousie Street and George Street area. Upon arrival, officers learned that a woman had been asking money when she threw a rock at the victim striking her in the face. Officers located a woman matching the description given to police and took her into custody.

As a result of the investigation, a 29-year-old Peterborough woman was arrested and charged with:

  • Assault with a weapon
  • Fail to comply with probation order X2

The accused is currently bound by two probation orders with the following conditions: to not possess any weapon as defined by the Criminal Code of Canada, including anything designed or intended for use to cause death or injury or to threaten or intimidate any person and to keep the peace and be of good behaviour.

The accused was held in custody and appeared in court Thursday, July 24, 2025.
