One of the largest and longest running car shows took place in Cobourg on Saturday, July 12, 2025.

With approximately 200 vehicles, the 29th annual Lakeside Car Show took over Victoria Park for the day.

All proceeds from the day including a 50/50 draw and silent auction went towards the support of Ed’s House Northumberland Hospice & Care Center.

Melanie Wright, President of The Great Pine Ridge Region of The Antique and Classic Car Club of Canada said the partnership with Ed’s House started last year and it was “hugely successful.”

“There were a lot of people that came to last years show simply because they knew it was in support of Ed’s House. Not necessarily because they knew anything about classic cars.”

Wright said they are primarily a touring club, “but this is a show where we sit still, and we invite other car lovers to join us.”

Awards were given out for the best pre-war, best 40’s, 50’s, 60’s, 70’s, 80’s, 90’s and 2000’s.

“Cobourg is an amazing Victorian town on the shores of Lake Ontario. They’ve invested heavily in maintaining this park which goes from King Street all the way to the lake. You feel like you’re in the middle of a beautiful oasis.”

With vehicles in the show dating back nearly 100 years, Wright said maintaining the vehicles is a “labour of love.”

“Those of us who are in the old car hobby, we love the cars, we enjoy taking care of them – yes they take time, but everything that is a priority in our lives takes time.”

At the end of the day, The Great Pine Ridge Region of The Antique and Classic Car Club of Canada presented a cheque for $4,724 to Ed’s House.

Joel Scott, Director Donor Relations and Communications said, “on behalf of the staff, volunteers, and the families we serve—both in our residence and through our Palliative Care Community Team—thank you to the Greater Pine Ridge Antique and Classic Car Club for your incredible support. The funds raised at yesterday’s event in Victoria Park will help provide approximately 16 days of compassionate care at Ed’s House. Your dedication truly makes a difference.”

Nick Graham was the winner of the 50/50 draw taking home $1,127.
