Cobourg Police – Incidents Include Eight People Charged with Consuming Drugs (No Names Released)

On June 19, 2025, Cobourg Police observed a female actively consuming drugs near Division St and Swayne Street, in the Town of Cobourg.

Police arrested the 41-year-old Cobourg woman and during a search of her person, located both Methamphetamine and Fentanyl in her possession. The woman was charged with two counts of Possession of a Schedule 2 Substance and Breach of recognizance. The woman was released on an Undertaking with a future court date of July 30, 2025.

On Wednesday, June 18, 2025, the Criminal Investigation Bureau, assisted by uniform officers, conducted patrols throughout downtown and the surrounding area to identify persons openly consuming narcotics in public.

In total, seven (7) people were arrested; three females, aged 35, 44 and 50, and four males, aged 27, 33, 38 and 49, all of Cobourg. After arrest, all accused persons were searched, but no further evidence of drug use was located to support further charges. Each accused was released and issued a Provincial Offences Notice for Engaging in Prohibited Activity under the Trespass to Property Act.

On Wednesday, June 18, 2025, at approximately 3:00pm, officers on foot patrol located a male party in the washroom of the bus shelter at 35 Albert Street prohibiting other people from using it. Officers identified the male, and it was determined that he was wanted on a warrant from another Police Service. Officers arrested the male and transported him to that Police Service to deal with the charges.
