Belleville City Council has ratified a new four-year collective agreement with Unifor Local 1839 which represents the City’s transit operators.

The agreement, which covers the period of April 1, 2025 to March 31, 2029, will see the City’s transit operators receive wage increases of five per cent in 2025, 3.5 per cent in 2026, and three per cent in 2027 and 2028.

The new collective agreement was reached through collaborative discussions focused on reaching a fair and balanced agreement that aligns with the City’s commitment to fostering a culture that is productive, respectful, positive, and recognizes the hard work and dedication of City staff.
