In honour of the event’s 25th anniversary, organizers of Northumberland Hills Hospital (NHH) Foundation’s annual gala are planning to host A Silver Soirée – Celebrating 25 Years of Giving on Saturday, November 8, 2025 at the Liuna Local 183 Lifelong Learning Centre.
With a focus on celebrating the tradition that began in 2001 and the overwhelming community support since inception, this year’s event will return to an in-person, single location format, but with a twist on the typical.
Toted as an ‘elevated cocktail reception,’ guests will be invited to come together for an elegant social
evening in support of NHH. Though organizers are shifting away from the traditional seated meal format, many of the much-loved elements of the past will return for the silver anniversary celebration.
Chairing A Silver Soirée are local physicians and long-time Foundation supporters, Dr. Kate Everdell and
Dr. Emma Smith.
“Both Dr. Everdell and Dr. Smith are well-known not only for the care they offer their patients, but also for their involvement in bettering our community,” shares Rhonda Cunningham, NHH Foundation CEO.
“We are honoured to have them serve as our Chairs for such a momentous occasion. We have a stellar Cabinet of dedicated volunteers working alongside them and our Foundation staff team to bring this celebration to life.”
Though A Silver Soirée takes place in November, the 2025 Gala Cabinet mobilized in early-spring to plan a seamless, elegant experience for guests focused on the cause that inspired the inaugural event: supporting NHH. Cabinet volunteers who will be working to do just that over the coming months are:
• Therese Brennan-Hunt, Silent Auction Chair
• Gabrielle Eckhardt, Décor Co-Chair
• Laura McCracken Ebbrell, Board Chair of Signature and Third Party Events
• Sue Morrow, Volunteers Chair
• Trenholm Parker, Sponsorship Co-Chair
• Grace Rivers, Catering and Beverage Chair
• Will Ryan, Décor Co-Chair
• Rebecca Vaughan, Raffle Chair
• Carly Wardle Sponsorship Co-Chair
The annual Gala event, hosted most recently in a community-wide format Galalicious, is the most financially successful event organized by NHH Foundation. Since inception in 2001, more than $4.1 million has been raised to help fund priority medical equipment and technology to support the delivery of modern patient care at NHH.
Tickets to attend A Silver Soirée will go on sale Tuesday, September 9 through the Foundation’s website,
www.NHHFoundation.ca.
In the meantime, Gala organizers are encouraging people to save the date and
watch for future announcements.
