8 Wing/CFB Trenton Emergency Response Exercise

In Local, Upcoming Events

8 Wing/Canadian Forces Base (CFB) Trenton will be conducting a training exercise simulating and responding to an emergency on the base.

On June 12, 2025, an exercise involving Military Police, local and regional emergency response services including Hastings-Quinte Paramedic Services, as well as various Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) units, will occur.

The exercise has been planned by the 8 Wing Emergency Management Training Cell to ensure the scenario is conducted in a safe, deliberate, and controlled setting. Residents passing by the base can expect to see an increase in police presence. There will be no road closures or impacts to residents outside of the base. The front gate entrance to the base off Highway 2 may be closed for a brief period and signage will be present to redirect traffic to an alternate entrance.

Emergency Response Plan exercises are a vital part of base training, ensuring effective response to a wide range of emergency situations. Conducting live scenarios in collaboration with local emergency services, strengthens coordination and continuously enhances response capabilities through analysis and improvement.
