It doesn’t take long to see the bad around Cobourg on a evening walk. But it’s best to always end your walk with hope.
It was a overcast, cloudy day, but the skies opened up for a beautiful evening sunset on Sunday, May 4, 2025.
But it’s obvious some people don’t appreciate the picturesque town we live in.
At the Victoria Park bandshell one of the new Picnic on Poetry tables has been moved to the edge of the bandshell. Two empty beer cans and a empty pack of cigarettes rest on one of the benches of the table.
On the bandshell, a discarded cigarette thankfully burned itself on the wooden floor. The bandshell is such a heritage part of Cobourg and Victoria Park.
Along the boardwalk, a destroyed wooden chair that had been placed along the sidewalk on King Street East with two others last week that were being offered for free.
Downtown Cobourg, some people were in entrances to some of the stores clearly doing illegal drugs.
But at the end of the evening, as the sun slowly faded, there is always hope for a brighter day tomorrow.
