Cobourg Police – Port Hope Woman Charged with Theft (No Name Released)

A 31-year-old Port Hope woman is facing charges after a package was taken from the front step of a home.

On Monday, March 31, at approximately 2:24 p.m., police were called to a residence in the area of Division Street and University Avenue East for a report of a package being stolen from the front step.

Officers reviewed the home security video and began to check the area for the suspect.

The suspect was located near Division Street and Buchanan Street a short time later. As a result of the police investigation, a 31-year-old Port Hope woman was arrested and charged with Theft Under $5000, Possession of Property Obtained by Crime, and Fail to Comply with Probation.

The package was recovered undamaged and returned to the owner. The accused was released on an Undertaking with a court date of May 14, 2025.
