Video – First Heavy Rain of the Season Causes Minor Flooding in Area

In Local, Weather

The first rain storm of the year caused minor flooding in the area on Sunday, March 16, 2025.

The deluge of rain struck the lakeshore area around Cobourg and Port Hope around 3 p.m.

Minor flooding took place in areas where water pooled like the Division Street underpass in Cobourg.

Some drivers cautiously went through the area, while others didn’t apply the brakes at all.

In Port Hope, all the ice was clear from the mighty Ganaraska River in short order.
