Numerous police vehicles were on scene and D’Arcy Street in the area of the community centre was blocked off to pedestrians and vehicles.

Cobourg Police stated to Today’s Northumberland that police reviewed CCTV footage and consulted with the OPP Explosives Disposal Unit.

“It was confirmed that the package was a rechargeable battery pack left behind by a group of youths.”
