Members of the Northumberland Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged another driver with impaired on Highway 401.

On Saturday February 2, 2025, at approximately 1:45 a.m., police were conducting speed enforcement on Highway 401. An Approved Screening Device (ASD) demand was made to which the individual complied by providing a sample of their breath. With the result, the accused was taken into custody and transported to the Brighton OPP detachment for further testing. Through investigation, the driver was found to be suspended from driving and a warrant existed for their arrest.

As a result of the investigation, Sevag, BOYAJIAN (age 38) of Oshawa Ontario, was arrested and charged with the following Criminal Code offences:

·      Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs

·      Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

The accused was additionally charged under the Highway Traffic Act (HTA), Liquor Licence Control Act (LLCA), and the Compulsory Automobile Insurance Act (CAIA).

The accused was released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cobourg on March 5, 2025.
