Video – Ice Water Rescue Training Just In Case

Members of the Cobourg Fire Department spent the morning of Saturday, February 1, 2025 training in ice water rescue.

The training is part of re-qualifying for ice water rescue.

Never venture onto the ice that’s forming along the shoreline of Lake Ontario. Holes can form in the ice and a person could become easily trapped.

A few hours after firefighters had left the pier, a photographer ventured out onto the ice covered east pier, even though a sign is clearly posted, “no access beyond this point.”
