In Local, Photo Gallery, Police Blotter

There were no serious injuries following a number of collisions on Highway 401 east of Cobourg on Wednesday, January 22, 2025.

With snow squalls coming off Lake Ontario it made for tricky driving on Highway 401.

Shortly before 1 p.m., a vehicle slammed into the guard rail just east of Eagleson bridge (Danforth Road East).

Two other collisions involving two vehicles and the other involving one vehicle and a tanker truck happened just west of the Gully Road overpass.

All collisions were in the eastbound lanes of the Highway.

Emergency services including Hamilton Township Fire Department, Cobourg Fire Department, Northumberland OPP and Northumberland Paramedics responded to the scenes along with a number of tow trucks.

Two individuals were taken to hospital to be assessed, but there were no serious injuries in any of the collisions.
