Roseneath Woman Facing Charges

A 42-year-old Roseneath woman is facing charges after police conduct a traffic stop on Friday morning.

On January 10, 2025, at approximately 1:00 a.m., police on patrol observed a vehicle that appeared to be making evasive maneuvers to avoid police interactions. The vehicle abruptly turned onto Patterson Street from Division Street before entering the business parking lot. A traffic stop was conducted and through investigation it was determined the driver was a prohibited driver.

The driver, a 42-year-old woman from Roseneath, was arrested and charged with three counts of Operation while prohibited contrary to section 320.18(1)(a) of the Criminal Code.

The accused was released on an undertaking with a future court date.

 

Cobourg Man Facing
A 34-year-old Cobourg man is facing charged after theft from vehicle reported to police Wednesday.

On Wednesday, January 8, 2025, at about 6:50 a.m., police responded to a report of a theft from a vehicle in the area of Elgin Street West and Burnham Street in Cobourg.

The complainant advised his vehicle was entered overnight and his luggage was taken, including his credit card and passport.

The credit card was used at a local business multiple times. Police identified a suspect and located the suspect in the area of Division Street a short time later.

As a result of the investigation, a 34-year-old Cobourg man was arrested and charged with

· thirteen counts of possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000,

· twelve counts of unauthorized use of credit card, theft under $5,000, possession of a schedule I substance (cocaine), and breach of probation.

The accused was held for bail.
