Video – Northumberland OPP and MNRF Officers Patrol Forests

Northumberland OPP along with the Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry conducted patrols in the Ganaraska Forest and Northumberland County Forest on Wednesday, November 6, 2024.

Officers were looking for such things as hunting licenses and other safety requirments along with proper safety requirements for off-road vehicles when it applied.

At approximately 2:30 p.m. while starting patrols in Northumberland Forest an OPP officer attempted to stop three off-road vehicles (two motorcycles and an atv) as the trails in the area were closed.

When the riders saw police they immediately turned and drove off at a high rate of speed.

Police are continuing their investigation and are advising the individuals to contact police.
