Municipality of Port Hope Launches 2025 Budget Engagement: Input Needed

In Local

The Municipality of Port Hope has commenced its 2025 Budget Community Engagement initiative with the launch of a public survey aimed at gathering valuable insights from residents, businesses and property owners. The survey is designed to collect feedback on current municipal services, providing an opportunity for the community to express opinions on whether to maintain, increase, or decrease spending.

This survey plays a vital role in the Municipality’s decision-making process. By collecting a wide range of perspectives, it ensures that budget priorities align with the needs and expectations of the community.

The feedback gathered will help guide a responsible and balanced budget process that reflects public preferences while addressing pressing demands for services such as public safety, infrastructure, community programs, and more.

In addition to gathering community feedback, the survey promotes transparency and accountability by providing residents with a direct platform to share their views on municipal services. The insights gathered through this process will help the Municipality understand public sentiment, allowing decisions to be made with a clearer sense of community priorities.

To encourage participation, respondents will have the option to be entered into a draw for a chance to win one of three gift cards valued at $200, $100, or $50, redeemable at a local business of their choice. The Municipality will promote the survey through various channels, including social media, municipal newsletters, signage, and direct mail to households across the community. To take part in the survey, visit porthope.ca/budget.

Please monitor our website and social media channels for further information on additional community engagement opportunities for the 2025 budget development process this fall, including an in-person drop-in event and the official schedule of the public budget meetings.
