Northumberland OPP Respond to Assault in Campbellford

Members of the Northumberland Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are advising there is no concern for public safety after receiving reports of young persons engaged in an assault in Campbellford.

On September 12, 2024, at approximately 11:45 a.m., OPP responded to a report of an assault at a location on Bridge Street East. Details of an edged weapon were included in the report and a local school was put on notice regarding the incident.

Police arrived and spoke with the two individuals involved. One attended a local hospital with minor injuries and another was arrested by officers. Police do not believe a weapon was involved and the initial report was inaccurate.
