Video – Thousands of Salmon Make Their Run Through Port Hope

In Local, Photo Gallery

Thousands of salmon made their way up the Ganaraska River on Saturday, September 7, 2024 in Port Hope.

With heavy rains the previous evening, the higher water created a perfect depth to make their way up the river.

Though there is no fishing allowed in downtown Port Hope until mid October, people came out to view enjoy watching the salmon making their way to Corbett’s dam.

South of the railway tracks, anglers crowded in to wall to wall with the space limited through town.
