Video – Garbage Litters Encampment Along Shoreline in Port Hope

The Municipality of Port Hope along with Port Hope Police Services are aware of an encampment along the shoreline of Lake Ontario.

Today’s Northumberland was notified of the encampment on Friday, August 23, 2024 which is just south of Lake Street by the waters edge.

Clothing, needles, drug paraphernalia, books, videos, a cage, children’s toys littered the encampment where the two tents are located.

Reaching out for comment, the municipality and police service both said they were aware of the encampment and will be providing an update early next week.
