Update – Hauling Stolen Vehicles Results in Mississauga Man Facing Numerous Charges (Name Released)

The Northumberland Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), OPP Highway Safety Division (HSD), and Peel Regional Police recovered three stolen vehicles.

On August 19, 2024, shortly before 3:00 p.m., Peel Regional Police requested assistance in conducting a traffic stop of a tractor-trailer travelling eastbound on Highway 401 towards the Municipality of Port Hope.

Members of the OPP HSD and Northumberland OPP responded to the report. At approximately 3:20 p.m., police were able to stop the vehicle and conducted an arrest of the driver on Highway 401 in the Township of Hamilton.

As a result, Adenawer CORREA-LIMA, a 64-year-old from Mississauga, has been charged with:

–      Possession of property obtained by crime – three counts

–      Trafficking in stolen goods over $5,000

–      Driving while under suspension.

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton at a future date.
