Quinte West OPP – Two People Charged After Mischief at Quinte West Golf Course (Names Released)

Arrests Made, Investigation Continues

Two individuals are fa cing charges after an incident at a golf course in Quinte West.

On August 7, 2024, members of the Quinte West Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a call at Quinte Hills Golf Course. Individuals had damaged the property and then fled.

On the August 11, 2024, as a result of the investigation, Nathan HODGE, aged 19, was arrested and was charged with mischief over $5,000. This accused was released with a future court date before the Ontario Court of Justice in Belleville.

On August 20, 2024, members of the Quinte West OPP, with the assistance of the Community Street Crime Unit, arrested Matthew SAMPAIO, aged 19. This individual is charged with:

  • Mischief Over $5,000
  • Dangerous operation
  • Failure to comply with undertaking
  • Driving while under suspension – two counts

This accused was held in custody and is scheduled to appear for a bail hearing today, August 2 0, 2024, before the Ontario Court of Justice in Belleville.

The investigation continues to identify the other parties involved in the incident.
