Rebound Child and Youth Services is delighted to announce the appointment of Samantha (Sam) Rockbrune as its new Executive Director. She will begin her role on August 26, 2024.
Sam replaces Nicole Wood who announced her departure from Rebound in April in order to continue her career in healthcare. We thank Nicole for her hard work and dedication to the organization over the last year. Former Rebound Executive Director, Carol Beauchamp, will be acting as Interim Executive Director and assisting with the transition.
Ms. Rockbrune holds a BA Honours Law from Carleton University, with a minor in women and gender studies. She is also a graduate of York University with an MA in Socio-Legal studies and has recently been a recipient of the university’s Top 30 Alumni under 30 award for creating positive change.
Additionally, Sam is on The Peak’s Emerging Leaders 2024 list honouring champions of social impact.
A leader in the non-profit sector, Sam has experience in social and climate justice locally and nationally.
She is passionate about building communities and leading teams in collaborative processes, with a strong track record in program implementation, project management and financial management.
“The Board conducted an extensive search for a new Executive Director and are pleased to have secured Samantha Rockbrune”, stated Mary Ellen French, Board President for Rebound. “We feel Sam’s skills and talents are well suited to attaining the organization’s future goals, and we look forward to inviting our community partners to meet her in the fall.”
The team at Rebound are eager to have Sam’s leadership and contributions help ensure that children and youth throughout Northumberland County have the opportunity to develop a positive social and emotional foundation through accessible mental health, youth justice, and prosocial programs and services.
