Port Hope Launches “Free Lunch” Contest to Promote Local Dining

In Local, Upcoming Events

The Municipality is thrilled to announce the launch of the “Port Hope Free Lunch” contest, a new initiative aimed at promoting the diverse and outstanding mix of restaurants in our beautiful Port Hope. This exciting program provides a unique incentive for both residents and visitors to explore and enjoy the culinary delights offered by our local eateries, with a generous meal credit of $30 at the participating restaurants, cafés, or diners.

“As we navigate the Walton Street reconstruction project, the ‘Port Hope Free Lunch’ contest serves as an excellent incentive to support our local businesses during this period of transition,” explains Mayor Olena Hankivsky. “By encouraging both residents and visitors to dine at our wonderful array of restaurants, we not only boost the local economy but also showcase the resilience and community spirit that defines Port Hope. This initiative is a fantastic way to highlight the culinary diversity our town offers while ensuring that our businesses continue to thrive amidst the ongoing improvements.”

The “Port Hope Free Lunch” program is a win-win for both patrons and local establishments, representing another key initiative by the Municipality to support our local businesses. Participating restaurants, cafés, and diners incur no costs with this promotion. Upon sign up, the Municipality has purchased a $30 meal credit from each establishment.

To enter the contest, participants simply fill out an entry form at visitporthope.ca/free-lunch. Per the contest details, winners will be announced in August. Once selected, a Free Lunch winner will use their $30 credit to enjoy a meal at the chosen establishment.

The Free Lunch contest is a month-long initiative, with over 25 lunch vouchers to be awarded. The contest begins Monday, July 15 and entries will close at 11:59 p.m. on Thursday, August 15, 2024.
