Northumberland OPP – Cobourg Man Charged with Possession of Weapon

Members of the Northumberland Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged an individual following a dispute.

On July 14, 2024, at approximately 5:25 a.m., police received a report regarding an incident involving a weapon on Danforth Road East in Hamilton Township. Officers arrived and spoke with involved parties who engaged in a dispute regarding a motor vehicle. Through investigation, an individual was found to have an edged weapon in their possession.

A 35-year-old male, from Cobourg, has been arrested and charged with:

– Unauthorised possession of a weapon.

The accused shall not be named to protect the identity of the victim and is due to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Cobourg at a future date.
