Cobourg Police – Assault Peace Officer, Mischief, Theft of Mail, Two Outstanding Warrants (Name Released)

A 32-year-old Cobourg woman is facing charges after police responded to a report of trespassing.
On Thursday, July 11, 2024, at approximately 11:00 a.m., police were dispatched to a business on King Street in the Town of Cobourg for a report of a female trespassing at a local business.

Police located and arrested the female who had outstanding warrants with the Cobourg Police Service.

During the arrest, the female spat at the responding officers and damaged two police vehicles.
As a result, Desiree Irwin (32) from Cobourg was charged with two counts of fail to attend for fingerprints, two counts of mischief under $5,000, theft from mail, possession of property obtained by crime, and breach of probation.

The accused was held for a bail hearing.
