Manager of Communications with the Health Unit, Ashley Ann Beaulac stated to Today’s Northumberland they are investigating the possibility of food poisoning at the event.

“We are currently investigating an increased number of enteric illnesses from patrons that attended the Lion’s Club Strawberry supper.”

The dinner menu included:

– Potato salad, macaroni salad, coleslaw, cucumber and tomato salad

– Deviled eggs

– Pickles

– Rolls and butter

– Cold meat and hot meatballs

– Delicious Van Dorp Strawberries white cake and whip cream

– Coffee and tea

The investigation is in the early stages, and Beaulac didn’t state the number of people who may have been affected.

“I can however touch base with you when they’ve completed the investigation and have more conclusive information to share.”
