Video – Dog Trapped Under Vehicle After Being Struck in Cobourg

A Golden Retriever was rushed to a local animal hospital after being struck by a car and becoming trapped underneath it on Sunday, June 23, 2024.

Shortly after noon on Sunday, Cobourg Fire Department were dispatched to the incident on University Avenue West, just east of Ontario Street.

The vehicle was traveling westbound on University Avenue when the incident happened.

Captain Gene Stroeder said the dog was conscious the entire time, but trapped underneath the vehicle.

Extrication tools were used to lift the vehicle off of the dog.

Firefighters carried the dog to a nearby vehicle where it was taken to a local veterinarian’s office to determine the injuries.
