Clean-Up from Transport Fire Slows Traffic on Highway 401

Shortly before 3 a.m. Alnwick/Haldimand Township Fire Department were dispatched to a transport fire on Highway 401 eastbound, just west of Colborne.

When crews arrived the transport was fully engulfed.

Highway 401 was shut down for a period of time.

One eastbound lane is open while clean-up crews removed the wreckage.

Traffic is backed up for several kilometres due to the congestion.
