The Ryan Huffman Foundation 3rd Annual Golf Tournament in Support of Mental Health, Addiction and Youth in Sport was held at Dalewood Golf Club on Friday, May 10, 2024.
A total of 152 golfers took part in the event that raises money for causes associated with the Ryan Huffman Foundation including mental health, addiction and youth in sport.
The first year’s golf tournament raised $22,000, last year was $44,000 and this years target is approximately $50,000.
“It’s been absolutely amazing how well the community has rallied and the support that we’ve had.”
Huffman said he started the foundation approximately three years ago when he found one of his best friends who had committed suicide. Huffman said he’s also had his struggles with mental health and addiction.
“I’ve wanted to create a means to give back and make a life long journey to give back to those who struggle with mental health and addiction. And the youth in sport plays such a massive role in my youth in growing up.”
Huffman said he wants to provide opportunities for youth who may not have an opportunity to participate in sports.
The gratitude Huffman has for the community that has come out over the last three years to support his foundation is something that’s hard for him to put into words.
“I’m speechless. It brings tears to my eyes. It’s an emotional feeling. I’m so blessed and grateful. Outstandingly amazing with so much gratitude.”
