Cobourg Police – Cobourg Man Charged with Unauthorized Possession of Prohibited Weapon, Careless Storage of Firearm (No Name Released)

A 37-year-old man is facing weapons charges after police seized several firearms during an investigation.

On Sunday, April 21, 2024, at approximately 8:00 p.m., police were called to a disturbance at a residence in the area of Burnham Street and Burwash Street in the Town of Cobourg.

Police attended and, during the investigation, determined that there were several firearms in the residence
that were not safely stored and some that were unregistered.

As a result of the investigation, a 37-year-old Cobourg man was arrested and charged with unauthorized possession of a prohibited weapon, careless storage of a firearm, and two counts of careless storage of ammunition. All firearms were seized pending the outcome of the court case.

The accused was released on an undertaking with strict conditions and a future court date.
