Video – Another GoFundMe Started for One of Three Victims Killed in Collision

In Local, Police Blotter

A GoFundMe has been started for another victim of a tragic collision that killed three people on Thursday, March 28, 2024.

At approximately 11:30 p.m. emergency services including Northumberland OPP, Northumberland County Paramedics, Hamilton Township Fire Department and Alnwick/Haldimand Township Fire Department responded to the area of County Road 45 near Dunbar Road.

Debris littered the roadway after a head-on collision took place on the roadway.

One vehicle came to rest on the roadway and another was in the west ditch.

At least two people had to be extricated from their vehicles.

The drivers of both vehicles and a passenger were confirmed deceased. Two other passengers were transferred to hospitals with non-life-threatening injuries.

County Road 45 was closed for several hours between County Road 22 and Beagle Club Road for the investigation.

At the scene of the collision on Friday, green marks can been seen on the road from OPP investigators and a memorial with a number of flowers and a chocolate Easter bunny have been placed on the west side of the road.

A friend of one of the victims has started a GoFundMe for the family.

Carissa Wamboldt has started the GoFundMe for her friend Hailey Nixon.

Wamboldt said, “as a family and community, we are devastated and heartbroken to our core.”

On the GoFundMe, Wamboldt said, “On March 28th, 2024 the Ford family experienced the tragic, unexpected loss of Hailey.”

“In the wake of this heartbreaking loss, we come together to support the Ford family as a community.”

“Hailey was a beloved daughter, sister, aunt, granddaughter, niece, cousin, girlfriend and friend who’s beautiful spirit touched the lives everyone who knew her.”

Hailey was 23-years-old when she passed away.

Wamboldt said she had a deep love for all animals and, “a bubbly personality that lit up any room she entered, and an infectious laugh. Hailey’s impact is felt deeply amongst her family, friends and community in which she is remembered as the caring, loving, smiley Hailey who would do anything for the people she loved.”

“To know Hailey was to love her,” said Wamboldt.

“Hailey was a daughter who brought so much pride, joy and love. A sister who had an unbreakable and fiercely loving bond. A new aunt to her baby nephew. A granddaughter who brought endless laughter and smiles. A niece, cousin, girlfriend and friend who brought a deep love, compassion and endless happiness.”

The GoFundMe will help the family with funeral costs, memorial arrangements and anything in relation to their needs at this time.

“Your generous contributions will help alleviate the financial strain on the Ford family, allowing them to focus on honoring Hailey’s memory and finding peace in their time of mourning.”
