Belleville Police Issues Community Alert on High Risk Sex Offender

The Belleville Police is alerting members of the Community to be aware that David Joseph RODGERS is now residing in the Belleville area as of the 1st of March 2024. RODGERS has been labelled a “Prolific Offender” by Toronto Police. RODGERS is currently out on bail on charges from the Toronto Police for breaching his 810.1 Order. RODGERS was charged last week by the Belleville Police Service for breaching his bail conditions, and was re-released on bail.

RODGERS is a two-time federal offender and has a criminal history of Sexual Interference, Possess Child Pornography, Import, distribute, sell Child Pornography, make, print-publish Child Pornography. RODGERS was also convicted of breaching his 810.1 order. RODGERS is on a 161 Prohibition order in relation to children for Life.

The Belleville Police Service will be closely monitoring this High-Risk Offender. RODGERS was granted bail again and must abide by strict conditions including but not limited to:

· Not to engage in any activity that involves contact with persons under the age of 16 years.

· Not to attend specific public places such as parks, daycares, playgrounds, schools or anywhere else persons under the age of 16 years will be present.

· Advise of any address change and remain at his place of residency and advise police of any changes in advance.

· Report to Police regularly.

RODGERS is described as a 37-year-old white male, 6’ tall, 240 lbs, shoulder length brown hair, and blue eyes.

The Belleville Police Service believes RODGERS may pose a risk to the community, particularly children. Residents are asked to be watchful and report any suspicious people in their neighbourhoods or public places.
