In Local

Protestors gathered once again in front of Victoria Hall on Saturday, March 16, 2024 calling for peace.

Just under 10 people held signs in front of Victoria Hall stating, “:Stop Gaza Genocide Now!!”, and “End All Wars!”

Minnie de Jong said the group was opposed to the “genocide” that’s happening in Gaza since the October 7, 2023 attacks by Hamas that killed over 1,000 people in Israel.

De Jong said they are opposed to the murder of kids and adults in Gaza.

“Israel has gone overboard in terns if their response to the Hamas attack.”

“So we’re trying to stop the slaughter in Gaza.”

De Jong said that countries have to take action to oppose it to bring a stop to the killings.

“Stop the killing and find a way to have a resolution to the long standing conflict that has been very hard on the Palestinians.”

Calling the attacks on October 7, 2023, “horrible,” de Jong said, “that doesn’t mean you slaughter the Palestinian people.”

The group comes out every Saturday for approximately eight weeks to protest in front of Victoria Hall starting at approximately 4:30 p.m.
