Northumberland OPP – Oshawa Resident Charged with Assault, Utter Threats (Name Released)

The Northumberland Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have made an arrest for an assault.

On February 23, 2024, at approximately 1:10 p.m., Northumberland OPP received a call regarding an individual who was in distress on Workman Road in the Township of Hamilton.

Officers attended the scene and the victim was treated for minor injuries by Emergency Medical Services (EMS). It was determined that two persons engaged in a confrontation while in a vehicle, leading to the physical assault of one of them. The accused had left the area prior to police arrival and as a result of the investigation, an individual was identified.

On February 25, 2024, Northumberland OPP made an arrest in relation to the incident.

Del AINSWORTH, 60-years-old, from Oshawa, has been charged with :

  • Assault
  • Uttering threats – cause death or bodily harm.

The accused is due to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice at a future date.
