Taking In The Outdoors in Northumberland County

In Local, Weather

Hoping a glimpse of the sun will a sign of things to come – but it was just a nice day to be out in Northumberland County on Sunday, January 28, 2024.

Specifically, Hamilton Township and the Cobourg area.

The temperatures still don’t fit the time of year.  It was above freezing for another day and mostly clouds for the day.

But sometimes it’s not about the sun, it’s just getting out and enjoying where we live.

Stopping out by Harwood, Gores Landing and Bewdley, the anglers and ice huts are still on Rice Lake.

It was obviously safe enough as everyone made it to shore, but you can’t help but wonder how much longer the ice will be thick enough given the temperatures.

Along the way through the winding roads, stopping to photograph horses and wild turkeys.  Stopping by the Harwood well, it’s always great to not only get fresh water that has been going on for decades, but it’s always a great place to meet people and just have a nice chat.

The beautiful Countryside of Hamilton Township, but it’s always nice to end up back home in Cobourg and try and get a peak at the sun as it pops out for a brief moment in time before resting for the night.

Christmas Magic is done in Victoria Park, but it’s still nice to see the magic of the season and the glare of the water of Christmas lights from Rotary Harbourfront Park.
