Today’s Northumberland Catches Up In Cobourg

In Local

It’s time to take a deep breath and catch up with the happenings around Cobourg.

The past 24-hours has been a busy one for Today’s Northumberland among many others in the community.’

We haven’t had a chance to catch up (other than one event) so this is what has happened in the past 24-hours in and around Cobourg.

The weather has been the main story happening in the area. High winds and the odd white out conditions confirm winter – is here.

The waves were pounding against the break wall and pier in Cobourg which many people always park by the marina to watch.

Two people made the best of the weather by making a snowman (person) on Friday night along University Avenue West.

High winds are also among the worst things that can happen at the encampment in Cobourg’s east end.

Part of a tree fell down on Green Street just south of Queen Street on Friday. If you see a fallen tree or large limb always use caution in the area because a hydro wire could have also be on the ground.

With the snow now here, be careful where you park – check to see if it is a snow route. It may save you the cost of a ticket or possibly even more expensive a tow.

The new scoreboard at the Cobourg Community Centre was put into place on Friday and it looks amazing.

It may be a sign of the times but on Friday a person was panhandling at the corner of King Street East and Division Street looking for bus fare.
