Northumberland OPP – Port Hope Man Arrested After Collision (Name Released)

MUNICIPALITY OF PORT HOPE, ON) – On December 28, 2023 at approximately 4:10 p.m., the Northumberland Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report of a motor vehicle in a ditch on 7th Line in the Municipality of Port Hope.

Officers located the vehicle and driver a short time later and were led into an impaired operation investigation. No injuries were reported and no other vehicles were involved.

Jeff MCNAMEE, 35-years-old, from the Municipality of Port Hope has been charged with:

·      Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

·      Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs

·      Fail to report accident

·      Fail to remain.

A further 90-day Administrative Driver Licence Suspension (ADLS) and a seven-day vehicle impound was initiated as per statute.

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Cobourg at a future date.
