Quinte West OPP – Three People Charged in Stolen Vehicle Investigation

The Quinte West Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged three people after a pursuit.

On November 30, 2023, at approximately 10:30 a.m., an officer was patrolling Highway 401, Quinte West. A traffic stop was attempted on a vehicle that had been reported stolen. The vehicle fled the scene and was located on Telephone Road a short time later.

The OPP’s Emergency Response Team and Canine Unit were dispatched to assist in the search. Three people have b een taken into custody.

Further investigation led to the seizure of unauthorized identity documents, suspected drugs and other items obtained by crime.

Lakhwinder TOOR, 41 years old, Gurmeet SINGH, 25 years old and Sukhjinder SINGH, 31 years old, from the GTA have been charged with the following offences:

  • Possession of break in instrument
  • Possession of property obtained by crime – Three counts
  • Unauthorized possession of credit card
  • Unauthorized possession of credit card data
  • Unauthorized possession of identity document

Sukhijinder SINGH was also charged with flight from police, while Gurmeet SINGH was also charged with possession of methamphetamine. The accused were held in custody pending a bail hearing at the Ontario Court of Justice in Belleville.
