SIU Concludes Investigation into Lindsay Cruiser Crash

On July 28, 2023, a 59-year-old man was in the rear seat of a cruiser, being transported from one OPP detachment to another OPP detachment.

In the area of Greenfield Road and Harvest Street in Lindsay, the officer operating the cruiser lost control of the vehicle and crashed into a field.

The man in the rear of the cruiser was taken to hospital where he was diagnosed with serious injuries, including a broken clavicle and facial fractures.

On his assessment of the evidence, SIU Director Joseph Martino determined there were no reasonable grounds to believe that the officer committed a criminal offence in connection with the man’s injuries.
