Durham Regional Police Service – Clarington Male Facing 23 Charges in Project Kingmaker

Clarington male is facing 23 charges after search warrant executed.

Investigators from East Division have been involved in a five-month long project aimed at vehicle thefts.  The subject of the investigation was targeting high end vehicles, including Chevrolet Tahoe’s, Chevrolet Suburban’s, and GMC Yukon’s, all parked in residential areas.  He gained access to these vehicles by hacking the programming that is incorporated into the vehicle computers.

Zachary HUSSEY, age 24 of Clarington is facing 23 charges which include: Theft of Motor Vehicle x7, Possess Firearm other than Restricted, Unlawfully Sell or Possess Counterfeit Mark x4 and Fail to Comply with Undertaking.

He was held for a bail hearing.
