The Business and Entrepreneurship Centre Northumberland (BECN) has opened applications for their Starter Company Growth Program, designed to support new small businesses in Northumberland.

This program is an opportunity for business owners to access micro grants to support business growth development as well as training, advice and mentorship.

Approved applicants may receive a grant of up to $3,000 to help them grow and expand their small business.

The BECN is the leading source for business information, strategy, resources, and education for entrepreneurs and small business owners in Northumberland.

They offer several business development programs to support entrepreneurs in various stages and categories of business. Through these programs, the BECN provides local business owners with access to micro grants, business support and networking opportunities to help their business succeed.

The Starter Company Growth Program is open to entrepreneurs looking to start a new business as well as businesses that have been in operation less than 6 months. Eligible participants must be 18 years or older, and must operate their business in Northumberland County on a full-time basis of 25 hours or more per week. Please note spaces in this program are limited. Applying to the Starter Company Growth Program is a competitive process and not all applicants will receive a grant fund.

Applications for the Starter Company Growth Program close on December 1, 2023. Successful applicants will begin their training on January 11, 2024.

In addition to this initial intake targeted toward new businesses, an additional intake of the Starter Company program will launch later this winter, focused on supporting existing businesses that have been in operation for over 6 months.
