Cobourg Police – Two Cobourg Residents Face Break and Enter Charges (Names Released)

Two Cobourg residents face break and enter charges after police responded to an assault on Tuesday night.

On Tuesday, October 31, 2023, at approximately 8:45 p.m., police responded to a report of an assault in progress at a residence on Hibernia Street in the Town of Cobourg.

The caller stated that he had been in bed when his door was forced open. Two individuals entered the home, and he was assaulted by one of the individuals. The victim sustained minor injuries.

When police arrived, the individuals had left the scene.

As a result of the police investigation, on November 1, 2023, Kevin Wybenga (32) of Cobourg was arrested and charged with assault, break and enter and mischief. Melissa Jenkins (43) of Cobourg was charged with break and enter.

Wybenga was held for a bail hearing later today and Jenkins was released on an undertaking with a future court date.
