Poppy Campaign Begins in Port Hope

Legion Branch 30 Poppy Chair Sarah Clayton pins the first poppy on Port Hope Mayor Olena Hankivsky on Friday, October 27, 2023 at the centotaph in Memorial Park.

Members of the Branch 30 Executive were also on hand for the ceremony.

The annual Remembrance Day Service at the Cenotaph in Memorial Park is scheduled for Saturday November 11 at 10:45 a.m. This ceremony is organized by the Port Hope Legion, Branch 30.

Legion members, colour troops and piper will gather in Lent Lane at 10:30 a.m. to march down the lane to Memorial Park Cenotaph for the Remembrance Day service at 10:45 a.m.

A portion of Augusta and Queen Streets will be closed to ensure a traffic free corner during the ceremony and safe spectator viewing/participation in the service beginning at 10:15 a.m. Please do not park inside the road closure and plan your route accordingly.
