Cobourg Police – Person Charged with Assault (No Name Released)

A Cobourg resident is facing charges after police responded to a disturbance in the downtown area early Monday morning.

On Monday, October 23 rd, 2023, at 2:35 a.m., police responded to a report of an altercation between two people near King Street East and Walton Street. The interaction escalated into a physical struggle over property, resulting in one person sustaining minor injuries.

As a result of the police investigation, a 31-year-old Cobourg man was arrested and charged with assault.

The accused was released from custody on an undertaking with a future court date.
