Consistent with DND/CAF directives, I have made the decision to permanently remove Colonel Leif Dahl from his position as 8 Wing Commander effective 28 September 2023.
Colonel Leighton James will be appointed 8 Wing Commander, replacing the Acting 8 Wing Commander, Lieutenant-Colonel Matt Lederle. An Assumption of Command ceremony will be held early in October 2023. I thank Lieutenant-Colonel Lederle for doing an exemplary job in leading 8 Wing during this brief but difficult period.
